Canine Good Citizen™ Award

This is the ultimate course to give you the skills to train your dog to become a well behaved member of your community.

This award will help strengthen the bond with your dog and teach better communications skills, as a result your dog will become more confident and comfortable in a variety of everyday situations both at home and in public.

Course

Book into our flexible Canine Good Citizen™ Life Skills Course which teaches all the assessment criteria for the Canine Good Citizen™ award. This flexible course provides you with multiple date choices you can choose from. Three lessons from nine flexible date options. This course is an excellent revision course even if you do not wish to undertake the assessment. If you would like to do the assessment to become a Delta Therapy Dog this is an excellent place to start.

Canine Good Citizen Award Criteria

If you choose to be assessed for the Canine Good Citizen™ assessment your dog will need to be:

  • 12mths of age
  • Microchipped
  • Registered with your local council
  • Vaccinated
  • Completed the Basic Dog Manners Level 1 course
  • Enrolled in the Canine Good Citizen Life Skills Course
  • Health check completed by your veterinarian

The assessment are done on an ongoing basis whilst you go through the course. You can book additional single sessions or a block of three if you wish to do additional practice.

The Delta Institutes

The Delta Institute is the accrediting body for positive reward based trainers who have undertaken the national accredited training course conducted by Delta.

The Institute’s role is to provide support, recognition and accreditation as well as ongoing education and peer support for graduates of our course.

It is also a go to place for pet owners to find professional and accredited trainers.
